Biography

Jasmyn Brown, born in 1994, is an abstract painter and resin sculptor from Charlotte, North Carolina. 

Her passion has always been focused around creating, doing DIYs and designing projects. Majority of her works are personal reflections influenced by music and her environment.

In 2022, Jasmyn's artwork was exhibited at The Brooklyn Collective in Charlotte, NC. Jasmyn graduated from North Carolina A&T State University and resides in Charlotte, NC where her studio work is based. 

Artist Statement

As an artist working in abstract expressionaism and mixed media, being able to explore while also freeing my mind has been beyond rewarding. A lot of my works involve figurative pouring, and spilling my free thinking mind onto a canvas through collage work. When my mind is foggy and maybe uncertain at times I look to colorful palettes allowing my personal intution to guide me. My practice can be led by spirituality and is mesmerizing and capitivating which draws the viewer in. I aspire for the audience to be in deep thought about lightness in the midst of sometimes a chaotic external world.
